• The Vacuum Pyknometers (Yale Pyknometer) are used for determining the theoretical maximum density of compacted or non-compacted bituminous paving mixtures (voidless mass).
• The Vacuum Pyknometers are used together with a Vibra-Dearator, Vacuum Pump and filter flask or air-drying unit / water trap to complete the test set.
• Percent air voids in compacted bituminous mixtures and the amount of bitumen absorbed by the aggregates can also be calculated with the test.
• UTAS-0093 has a 4,3-capacity aluminium container.
• UTAS-0094 has a 10 L capacity transparent plastic container.
• The pyknometers consist of a container, a transparent vacuum lid with vacuum gauge (UTGE-3552) and a transparent volumetric plate.
• Vacuum Pumps are supplied with 3m plastic tube (Ø8mm OD) and 2 pcs. clamps.
• UTGE-3552 Vacuum gauge, analogue, scale range (-100/0 kPa), accuracy (1.0 % of scale range), 1 kPa graduated, Ø63 mm. Supplied with a valve, 4-way dispenser and muffler.
• Vibra-Dearator, Vacuum Pump and filter flask or air drying unit / water trap should be ordered separately.
